Pratt livestock auction news

Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., June 15, reported receipts of 2,099 head, compared to 2,347 head last week and 962 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing 300 to 750 pounds and feeder heifers weighing 300 to 650 pounds were not enough for a market test but a higher undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 750 to 950 pounds were steady to $4 higher. Feeder heifers at 650 to 950 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Receipts included 72% 600 pounds and over, 18% 600 pounds and under, 10% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 51% heifers and 49% steers.
