Wheat ends week lower; corn, beans mostly higherWheat ended the week lower, while corn and soybeans were mostly higher. Export inspections for Wheat were reported at 17.6 million bushels, according to the National Grain Market Summary for July 24. Corn found spillover support from soybeans. Corn export inspections were reported at 49.9 million bushels as compared to 43-48 million. Soybeans were higher due to talk of potential hot and dry weather in the western corn-belt. Export inspections for soybeans came in at 10.8 million bushels as compared to 5-10 million. Wheat was 1-7 cents lower except St. Louis was 8 cents higher. Corn was mostly 1-5 cents higher. Sorghum was 8 cents lower to 3 cents higher. Soybeans were mostly 6-11 cents higher. Grains inspected for export for week ending July 24: Wheat totaled 17.6 million bushels, up 3.9 million bushels; corn 49.9, up 3.0 million bushels; sorghum 1.3 million bushels, down 700 thousand and soybeans 10.8 million bushels, down 900 thousand bushels compared to a week ago. Year to date: Wheat totaled 107.9 down 5.0 million; corn 1781.9 up 252.9 million; sorghum 159.3 up 23.8 million and soybeans 862.9 down 179.3 million. Crop marketing years begin June 1 for Wheat and September 1 for corn, sorghum, and soybeans. There was not to report in export news. In the futures close, Kansas City September Wheat was $4.99 1/4, down 5 3/4 cent. Terminal Wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, 4.89, down 7 cents; Minneapolis, $5.08 1/2, down 5 1/2 cents; Portland, $3.86 to $3.87, down 1 cent; St. Louis, $3.34, up 8 cents. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $2.18, up 2 to 1 cents; Minneapolis, $1.71, down 6 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $2.01 to $2.05, up 3 to 5 cents; Omaha, $2.07 to $2.08, up 2 cents. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $5.67, up 6 cents; Minneapolis, $5.13 1/4, down 3 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $5.44 to $5.48, up 9 to 11 2 cents; central Illinois processors, $1.63 1/4 to $5.73 1/4, up 6 1/4 cent. Kansas City Wheat prices July 25, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $4.97 1/2 to $5.20 1/2, down 9 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $5.07 1/2 to $5.26 1/2, down 9 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $5.12 1/2 to $5.27 1/2, down 9 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $5.12 to $5.27, down 9 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter Wheat was $3.69 1/2 to $3.89 1/2, down 9 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $2.39 to $2.43, unchanged. Date: 7/25/06
