Watertown cattle sales

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 650 head July 26, compared to 600 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.

No trends available due to no report last week. Good demand for cattle over 800 pounds. The offering included 41% feeder steers, 59% heifers, with 100% feeder cattle over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 1130 to 1139 lbs., 89.90 to 91.00 (90.39); 7 head, 1142 lbs., 86.25 fleshy; 1154 to 1158 lbs., 88.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 14 head, 1169 lbs., 80.70 fleshy. Medium frame 3, 7 head, 691 lbs., 70.50.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 13 head, 931 lbs., 79.50; 10 head, 1018 lbs., 78.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 820 lbs., 102.00; 909 to 949 lbs., 99.25 to 101.00 (100.45); 16 head, 968 to 978 lbs., 86.00 to 87.50 (86.75); 1000 to 1040 lbs., 84.75 to 88.00 (86.87); 1051 to 1093 lbs., 81.50 to 86.00 (84.87); 1107 to 1116 lbs., 84.10 to 88.90 (86.03). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1118 to 1147 lbs., 81.60 to 84.75 (82.26).
