Steers, B&Os, Lim-Flex first to enter ring at Limousin Jr. NatiJunior Limousin exhibitors displayed the results of their personal breeding programs in the bred-and-owned shows at the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress (NJLSC) July 12 in Lawton, Okla. Judge Kevin Jensen, Courtland, Kan., watched them parade 51 females and 15 bulls. CTCT Rockin Rosy 5170R, owned by Call Carmichael, Richmond, Ky., earned grand champion bred-and-owned female honors. The Feb. 20, 2005, daughter of MINE PLD Overlooked 2951M first won Division 3. The reserve grand champion was EF Cash Me Out 601R, the Division 1 winner. Austen Etherton, Dawson, Ill., owns the Sept. 1, 2005, daughter of EXLR New Generation 071M. In the bred-and-owned bull show, Jensen found the grand and reserve champions in divisions 2 and 1, respectively. EF Wave On Wave 359R, which Etherton owns with ATAK Limousin, Avon, Ill., earned grand champion honors. He is a March 18, 2005, son of AUTO Black Dakota 129J. The reserve grand champion was BR Clearwater, a Dec. 1, 2005, son of BR Jam. Brandon Douglas, Miami, Okla., owns him. Jensen sorted 27 females in the first-ever NJLSC Lim-Flex® female show. Douglas won grand champion with EXLR Emma 771R, the Division 2 champion and a March 23, 2005, daughter of LESF Asphalt 9N out of EXLR Miss Emma 1001L. Reserve grand champion went to BOJR Relentless 297R, the Division 1 champion. James Bohi Jr., Wellsville, Kan., owns the Sept. 19, 2005, daughter of CA Future Direction 5321 out of AUTO Morgan 809M. BOJR Relentless 297R also was grand champion among the bred-and-owned entries. CJ's Rachel was reserve grand champion bred-and-owned Lim-Flex female for Cassie Johnson, Cushing, Iowa. The April 11, 2005, daughter of CJ's Elway out of GG Diane 485 first won reserve champion in Division 2. The steer show included 12 entries in the Prospect Division and 22 head in the Progress Division. Christopher Barton, Jarrell, Texas, won champion prospect steer with a 642-pound, half-blood son of MLGF Miss 78F. Reserve champion went to the 757-pound, half-blood son of MIKS Miss Touchback 4931 that Sy Ann Foster, Lockney, Texas, showed. Michael Ludens, Viborg, S.D., had the champion progress steer, a 1,205-pound, three-quarters son of RGMA Night Rider 73N. Shane Harrison, Minier, Ill., had the reserve champion with a 1,282-pound, half-blood son of Wazn't Me. The North American Limousin Foundation (www.nalf.org), headquartered in Englewood, Colo., provides programs and services--including genetic evaluation of 5,000 active sires--to nearly 4,000 members and their commercial customers.
