South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending July 21 showed receipts of 2,400 feeder lambs and 100 replacement nannies, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Compared with last week, feeder lambs were weak to $2 lower. Slaughter and replacement ewes and slaughter meat goats were not tested. Trading and demand were moderate. Lambs continue to be marketed earlier and lighter than normal due to the dry weather. Feeder lambs: Texas, 2400 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2 60 to 65 lbs., 103.00 to 105.00; 65 to 75 lbs., 100.00 to 103.00; 90 to 95 lbs., 98.00 to 102.00. Replacement nannies: Texas, 100 head, Selection 1 to 2, baby tooth 100 lbs., 80.00 cwt; solid mouth 120 lbs., 67.00 cwt. Date: 7/27/06
