NAILE's new Junior Wether Goat Show set for Nov. 15

North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) officials announced that this year's giant expo will include a Junior Wether Goat Show scheduled for Nov. 15 at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Show officials added this event because many livestock operations now include meat-type goats and many young people are now raising these goats as 4-H or FFA projects.

The show is open to exhibitors not more than 21-years of age and at least 6-years old by day of the show. The entry fee is $20 per head which includes a $5 per head premium jackpot. Premiums are $2,500 plus jackpot added monies and will be paid to the first 10 places in each class. The show is open to both purebred and crossbred wether goats. Arrival and weigh-in takes place on Nov. 14.

Catalogs containing all show information and rules are available for download on the NAILE website at www.livestockexpo.org. Printed catalogs and entry forms are automatically mailed to those who have participated in the NAILE in the past two years. Catalogs are free, and anyone wishing to receive one in print or on CD should contact the NAILE offices at P.O. Box 36367, Louisville, KY 40233-6367, or by fax at 502-367-5299.

Entry deadline for Junior Wether Goat Show is October 1. Exhibitors may submit entries by e-mail at any time and on the website beginning Sept. 1.

The 33rd Annual NAILE is produced by the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville, Ky., under the auspices of the Kentucky State Fair Board. During the Expo's two-week run Nov. 4 to 17, the facility's entire 1,000,000 square feet of climate-controlled exhibit space is used. There are nine show divisions, and more than 200,000 visitors and exhibitors attend the event annually.
