NAILE set for Nov. 4 to 17

Entry information now available

The 33rd Annual North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) is scheduled for Nov. 4 to 17 at the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC). Purebred livestock from nearly every state will compete for top breed association honors and national recognition. When the world's largest, purebred livestock expo concludes its two-week run, more than 21,000 livestock entries will have competed in nine divisions for nearly $750,000 in premiums and awards.

NAILE premium and information catalog as well as entry forms are now available on the Expo's website at www.livestockexpo.org. Online entry service from the website opens September 1.

Printed catalogs and forms are automatically mailed to those who have participated in the show in the past two years. Catalogs continue to be free, and anyone wishing to receive one in print or on CD should contact the NAILE offices at P.O. Box 36367, Louisville, KY 40233-6367, by fax at 502-367-5299, or by e-mail at KFECNAILE@ksfb.ky.gov.

Show dates and fees are as follows:

--Quarter Horse Show: Nov. 1 to 9; Entry Deadline: Oct. 23; Entry Fees: By Class (See Premium List); Post Entries: Require additional fees;

--Dairy Cattle Show: Nov. 3 to 7; Entry Deadline: Sept. 20; Late Entry: Oct. 10 Entry Fees: Open - $25, Junior - $15, Late Fees: Double;

--Dairy Goat Show: Nov. 3 to 5; Entry Deadline: Sep. 20; Entry Fees: Open, $12;

--Llama/Alpaca Show: Nov. 4 to 5; Contact Ky. Llama & Alpaca Association at 859-234-2598 or www.naileshow.com or www.kentucky-llama-alpaca.org;

--Junior Swine Show: Nov. 4 to 6; Entry Deadline: Oct. 1; Entry Fees: Junior, $15;

--Draft Horse Show: Nov. 10 and 11; Entry Deadline: Oct. 27; Entry Fees: By Class (See Premium List);

--Sheep Show: Nov. 10 to 17; Entry Deadline: Oct. 1; Entry Fees: Open, $12, Junior, $12, Market Wether, $20, Wool Show, Per Fleece, $10, Lead Line, $20;

--Beef Cattle Show: Nov. 11 to 17; Entry Deadline: Oct. 1; Entry Fees: See individual breed listings in Premium Catalog; Pen of Three Feeder Cattle, $75 per pen, Feeder Steer Single, $25, Junior Steers, $25

--Junior Wether Goat Show: Nov. 15; Entry Deadline: Oct. 1; Entry Fee: $20 per head which includes $5 per head premium jackpot;

--Boer Goat Show: Nov. 16; Entry Deadline: October 1; Entry Fees: Open, $17.

The 33rd Annual NAILE is produced by the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville, Ky., under the auspices of the Kentucky State Fair Board. During the expo's two-week run, the facility's entire 1,000,000 square feet of climate-controlled exhibit space is used. More than 200,000 visitors and exhibitors attend the event annually.
