Texhoma cattle market newsThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,643 head Jan. 25, compared to 1,916 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 higher. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average. Quality was average to attractive, few plain. The supply included 63% steers, 33% heifers with 80% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 117 cows and bulls sold with 65% going to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 356 to 361 lbs., 166.50 to 167.00 (166.65); 8 head, 405 to 409 lbs., 148.50 to 152.00 (149.37); 524 to 531 lbs., 134.50 to 139.00 (136.19); 15 head, 550 to 598 lbs., 128.00 to 133.00 (130.23); 608 to 642 lbs., 119.00 to 123.50 (120.56); 661 to 697 lbs., 117.00 to 122.00 (120.48); 121 head, 748 lbs., 114.50; 755 to 782 lbs., 112.60 to 114.00 (112.64); 810 to 825 lbs., 108.00 to 113.35 (111.46).
