Texhoma cattle market news

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,643 head Jan. 25, compared to 1,916 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 higher. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average. Quality was average to attractive, few plain. The supply included 63% steers, 33% heifers with 80% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 117 cows and bulls sold with 65% going to packers.
