Presho cattle market report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 3,000 head Jan. 19, compared to 2,700 head last week and 3,679 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold $2 to $4 higher. Attractive offerings of home raised feeders. The offering included 71% steers, 29% heifers, with 70% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 415 to 433 lbs., 157.00 to 169.00 (160.89); 16 head, 476 to 494 lbs., 143.75 to 152.00 (147.80); 504 to 542 lbs., 144.50 to 150.00 (146.38); 556 to 595 lbs., 135.75 to 143.75 (140.90); 620 to 647 lbs., 126.50 to 132.00 (129.47); 661 to 669 lbs., 128.50 to 131.00 (130.02); 16 head, 697 lbs., 115.25 fleshy; 713 to 733 lbs., 117.00 to 122.50 (119.50); 752 to 770 lbs., 115.10 to 117.75 (116.55); 805 to 843 lbs., 112.00 to 112.90 (112.47). Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 17 head, 549 lbs., 140.00; 592 to 593 lbs., 132.00 to 135.00 (133.54); 12 head, 645 lbs., 123.50; 653 to 672 lbs., 118.00 to 123.50 (123.13); 8 head, 703 to 743 lbs., 113.75 to 114.25 (114.06). Large frame 1, 663 to 676 lbs., 118.50 to 119.25 (118.69).
