New program coordinator announced at V.G. Young Institute

Texas

Kimberly Jozwiak has been named program coordinator at the V.G. Young Institute of County Government, according to an announcement from Richard Avery, institute director. The institute is part of Texas Cooperative Extension and the Texas A&M University System.

Jozwiak's primary function is to provide judicial education to justice court judges and clerks.

She also will be responsible for reporting on grants to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and preparing future grants fund requests.

"We are fortunate to have a person of Kimberly's caliber to fill this important role," Avery said. "She brings a great deal of justice court experience to the position."

Jozwiak was a justice of the peace in Washington County for seven years. She is currently pursuing a degree in criminal justice.

"I feel my prior experience as a justice of the peace will benefit this position," she said. "I know the needs and requirements of the office and am looking forward to providing the justice courts with quality education in many areas."

"As the institute moves forward in providing judicial education to Texas' justice court judges and clerks, Kimberly will be a valuable asset to our program," Avery said.

The institute works with the Texas Justice Court Judges Association to provide continuing education programs to county justice court judges and personnel. Funding for the programs is made through a judicial education grant from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

Located in College Station, the institute works to meet the educational needs of county officials. For more information on the institute, visit http://vgyi.tamu.edu/.
