Lexington cattle market news

The Lexington Livestock market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 4,200 head Jan. 20, compared to 3,000 head last week and 3,200 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, steers trended steady to $4 higher and heifers were steady to $3 higher. Receipts consisted of high quality, ranch-raised, one-iron feeders offered in load lots. Demand and trade activity was very good. Total receipts consisted of 59% steers and 42% heifers, with 88% over 600 pounds.
