Kerby receives research award in cotton physiologyTom Kerby, Ph.D., a physiologist in the public and private sectors, received the Outstanding Research Award in Cotton Physiology at the Beltwide Cotton Conferences in San Antonio, Texas. The annual award, sponsored by Agrivert, recognizes exceptional achievements in cotton research. Kerby was selected by a committee of industry peers and is known for applying research to critical farm problems. Initiatives Kerby helped pioneer include plant-based applications of mepiquat chloride, in-season plant mapping, computer-assisted cotton management and heat unit-dependent planting guidelines. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Kerby was also awarded a $5,000 check from Agrivert. Date:1/24/06
