Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, reported receipts of 2,007 head Jan. 20, compared to 1,523 head last week and 1,310 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, light slaughter lambs were steady, heavy weights were $5 to $7 lower. Stocker and feeder goats were steady. Slaughter goats were steady. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 300 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder lambs: Dorper ewes, few 65 lbs., 124.00. Bucks, 125.00 to 150.00 per head. Barbados, ewes, 47.00 to 72.00 per head. Bucks, 150.00 to 180.00 per head. Pairs. few 30.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime, 40 to 80 lbs., 117.00 to 125.00; 90 to 120 lbs., 70.00 to 80.00. Slaughter ewes: Good, 110 to 140 lbs., 47.00 to 54.00. Barbados, lambs, 15 to 40 lbs., 110.00 to 112.00. Ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 45.00 to 53.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 25 to 45 lbs., 112.00 to 124.00; 45 to 60 lbs., 117.00 to 124.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 120.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 75 to 130 lbs., 45.00 to 65.00.
