Wheat board facilitates hard white Wheat meeting in Western Nebraska

The Nebraska Wheat Board (NWB) in cooperation with Crossroads Cooperative and The Scoular Company, both from Sidney, and Farmers Elevator Company in Chappell would like to invite all interested parties to attend a Hard White Wheat Seminar to be held on Tuesday, March 7 at the Sidney Holiday Inn. The following day, March 8, Farmers Coop Elevator in Hemingford will team up with the NWB to host an in identical meeting at the Catholic Parish Hall in Hemingford.

Both meetings will start at 10:30 a.m. and will hear from leaders within the United States hard white Wheat industry.

Speakers will include: Ron Stoddard, executive director Nebraska Wheat Board and chairman of U.S. Wheat Associates Hard White Wheat Committee; Dr. David Baltensperger, plant breeder, UNL Panhandle Research & Extension Center in Scottsbluff; Kurt Haarmann, merchant, Columbia Grain International, Inc., Portland, Ore.; Dan Maltby, manager Southwest Grain Operations for General Mills, and HW Wheat coordinator for Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and South Dakota; Tom Willis, manager, Right Coop in Wright, Kan.; Tom Luhrs, Leon Kriesel and Chris Cullan, certified seed producers; and Dr. John Oades, director U.S. Wheat Associates Portland Office.

This outstanding lineup of speakers will bring invaluable insight to you surrounding all aspects of the production, marketing, utilization, and strategies taking place in the hard white Wheat arena. Make plans to attend one of these informational meetings and have your questions and curiosities answered.

The participating grain companies are pleased to provide you with a delicious lunch at noon.
