South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Feb. 17 showed receipts of 1,200 feeder lambs and 600 slaughter ewes, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Compared with last week, feeder lambs were steady. Slaughter ewes and slaughter meat goats were not tested. Trading and demand were moderate. Most old crop lambs have been sold and these are some of the first new crop lambs to be sold. Feeder lambs: Texas, 1200 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, new crop, 80 to 85 lbs., 114.00 to 117.00. Slaughter ewes: Texas, 600 head, Utility and Good 1 to 3, 55.00 to 60.00. Date: 2/23/06
