South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Dec. 15, showed receipts of 500 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Trading at a standstill, demand was light. Most lambs have been marketed and higher feeding costs continue to slow buyers interest. Feeder lambs, slaughter ewes and replacement ewes were not tested. Slaughter meat goats, showed no recent comparisons, but a sharply weaker undertone was noted. Slaughter meat goats: Texas, 500 head, Selection 1 to 2, 60 to 65 lbs., 90.00. Date: 12/21/06
