Lexington feeder cattle sales

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., Dec. 8, reported receipts of 2,292 head, compared to 2,550 head last week and 2,900 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Neb.

Compared to last week, feeder steer and heifers sold firm to higher with instances of $3 higher on the bulk of the trade. Good buyer attendance and demand. Feeder cattle quality was average to good, along with many reputation offerings. Receipts consisted of 65% steers and 35% heifers, with 78% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 420 to 445 lbs., 127.50 to 130.75 (129.86); 3 head, 481 lbs., 123.00; 529 to 549 lbs., 115.00 to 117.00 (116.10); 572 to 595 lbs., 110.00 to 116.00 (114.73); 613 to 646 lbs., 102.50 to 111.50 (106.11); 650 to 699 lbs., 103.75 to 110.00 (108.38); 89 head, 682 lbs., 111.25 fancy; 702 to 749 lbs., 102.50 to 108.25 (106.16); 759 to 791 lbs., 103.85 to 107.25 (106.34); 13 head, 805 lbs., 102.75; 4 head, 861 lbs., 80.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 454 lbs., 123.50; 572 to 599 lbs., 104.00 to 107.50 (105.47); 600 to 649 lbs., 100.00 to 109.35 (105.53); 665 to 699 lbs., 100.00 to 108.00 (103.27); 702 to 749 lbs., 95.00 to 103.75 (100.90); 50 head, 755 lbs., 104.75; 14 head, 821 lbs., 101.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 457 to 499 lbs., 106.00 to 117.50 (111.66); 10 head, 510 to 547 lbs., 114.00 to 117.50 (115.69); 564 to 586 lbs., 104.00 to 106.75 (105.14); 604 to 637 lbs., 94.50 to 109.25 (101.10); 656 to 695 lbs., 93.50 to 107.25 (101.42); 753 to 785 lbs., 97.50 to 101.25 ( 99.97). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 493 lbs., 90.00 to 95.00 (93.50); 501 to 547 lbs., 95.00 to 108.50 (102.86); 550 to 598 lbs., 88.50 to 104.75 (101.86); 605 to 643 lbs., 92.00 to 95.00 (93.72); 656 to 681 lbs., 97.50 to 99.75 (99.41); 700 to 720 lbs., 95.25 to 100.25 (98.80); 760 to 773 lbs., 87.50 to 99.50 (96.81); 3 head, 837 lbs., 87.50; 3 head, 973 lbs., 87.50.
