Woodward cattle sales news

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 3,641 head Aug. 18, compared to 6,200 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady, except steers over 850 pounds were $1 higher. Steer and heifer calves were mostly $2 to $4 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average to full. Quality was average, few attractive. The supply was comprised of 48% steers, 45% heifers with 52% over 600 pounds.
