Texhoma cattle salesThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 181 head Aug. 23, compared to 239 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, very limited receipts due to muddy conditions. No test on feeders and calves. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 75 cows and bulls sold with 29% going to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 541 lbs., 125.50; 6 head, 635 to 643 lbs., 117.75 to 118.50 (117.87) calves. Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 10 head, 467 lbs., 93.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 515 to 524 lbs., 116.00 to 118.00 (117.70). Slaughter cows: Breakers, 1 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1700 lbs., 45.00. Boners, 6 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 46.50 to 47.00; low dressing, 44.50 to 45.25. Lean, 8 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1050 to 1175 lbs., 46.00; low dressing, 40.50 to 42.50. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 7 head, 1200 to 2150 lbs., 57.50; high dressing, 60.00 to 61.50; low dressing, 51.50 to 52.50. Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 8 to 9 years old, 1050 to 1300 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, average blacks, 735.00 to 830.00; 8 to 9 years old, 1000 to 1100 lbs., 1 to 3 months bred, average blacks, 660.00 to 700.00; 10 years old, 1150 to 1175 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, average blacks, 635.00 to 700.00; 10 years old, 1075 to 1175 lbs., 1 to 6 months bred, average quality, 510.00 to 560.00.
