St. Onge livestock market reportThe St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 1,642 head Aug. 18, compared to 1,277 head last week and 867 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to two weeks ago, steers under 750 pounds not well tested, and over 750 pounds were steady to $1 higher. Feeder heifers sold weak to $2 lower. Slaughter cows sold mostly $2 lower, except lean cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were mostly steady. Buyer demand was good on all classes. The offering included 52% feeder steers, 48% feeder heifers, with 91% of the feeder supply over 600 pounds.
