Dodge City cattle sales report

Compared with last week, steers and heifers 300 to 700 pounds were firm in an extremely limited supply, steers 700 to 850 pounds were $2 to $4 higher, 850 to 1000 pounds were $5 to $8 higher, heifers 700 to 850 pounds were $3 to $6 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were weak to $2 lower. Receipts included 80% 600 pounds and over, 10% 600 pounds and under, 10% slaughter cows and bulls with 290 head, early. The feeder supply included 67% steers and 33% heifers.

Slaughter cows: Breakers and Boners, 80 to 85% lean, few 54.00 to 57.00 (55.00), higher dressing, 59.00 to 60.50 (59.75); low dressing, 46.50 to 52.50 (48.60). Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 48.00 to 52.00 (49.55); low dressing, 40.00 to 49.00 (45.46).

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 65.00 to 68.50 (66.38); low dressing, 61.00 to 62.50 (61.75).
