Dodge City cattle sales reportCompared with last week, feeder steers and heifers weighing 300 to 700 pounds on a very light test were firm to $3 higher. Steers weighing 700 to 750 pounds were not tested, those weighing 750 to 1000 pounds were $1 to $3 higher. Heifers weighing 700 to 950 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter cows, mixed Breakers and Boners were steady to weak, and Leans were $1 higher. There were not enough slaughter bulls for test, but a lower undertone was noted. Receipts weighing 600 pounds and over were 74 percent, under 600 pounds were 20 percent, bred and cow-calf pairs were 1 percent, and slaughter cows and bulls were 5 percent of the sale, with 157 head, selling early. The feeder supply consisted of 54 percent steers and 46 percent heifers.
