The Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains, Mo., reported receipts of 4,500 head Sept. 20, compared to 4,964 head last week, and 4,816 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.

Compared to last week, steers under 600 pounds sold $2 to $4 lower, with heifer-mates steady to $2 lower. Weights over 600 pounds sold steady to $2 higher. The supply was moderate. Demand was good, best on uniform lots with 1 to 2 rounds respiratory shots and preferably weaned, although several calves continue to come right off mama and packing some flesh. The feeder supply consisted of 47% steers and 53% heifers, with nearly 34% over 600 pounds.
