Tulsa livestock auction reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 4,461 head Sept. 19, compared to 3,656 head last week and 3,385 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, lightweight steers sold $3 to $5 lower, with feeder steers steady to $1 lower. Lightweight heifers were $3 to $5 lower, with feeder heifers $2 lower. Quality was fair to attractive with weigh-ups mostly average. There was a good attendance of buyers with very good demand. Receipts were comprised of 47% steers, 40% heifers, 12% bulls, with 18% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows sold $2 higher with bulls selling mostly steady. Demand was very good on bred cows and feeding cows. A total of 600 cows and bulls sold with 32% going to packers.
