The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 2,150 head Sept. 21, compared to 1,173 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Steers and heifer calves were $1 to $4 lower. Demand was good for feeders, moderate for calves. Quality was average. Fill was average to full. The supply included 58% steers, 40% heifers with 77% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $3 to $4 lower. Limited test on bulls. A total of 132 cows and bulls sold with 56% going to packers.

Boners, 14 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1125 to 1400 lbs., 50.50 to 52.50; high dressing, 53.00 to 53.50; low dressing, 45.50 to 50.00. Lean, 39 head, 85 to 90% lean, 950 to 1200 lbs., 48.50 to 50.00; high dressing, 52.50; low dressing, 43.50 to 47.00. Light, 12 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1025 lbs., 38.50 to 42.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 5 head, 1350 to 1800 lbs., 66.00; high dressing, 62.50 to 64.50.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 4 to 5 years old, 1125 to 1175 lbs., 2 to 5 months average to high blacks 900.00 to 960.00; 5 to 7 years old, 1150 to 1375 lbs., 1 to 3 months bred, average quality 810.00 to 875.00; 5 to 7 years old, 1300 to 1325 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, average quality 875.00 to 925.00.
