St. Onge livestock reportThe St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported sales of 1,693 head Sept. 16, compared to 194 head last sale and 3,029 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Trends were not applicable since the last reported sale was three weeks ago, however a higher undertone was noted on the yearlings. This sale was the first run of spring calves. Feeder receipts included 48% steers and 52% heifers, with 87% over 600 pounds. Buyer representation was good with good demand for all classes. Receipts were about 82% feeders, 13% slaughter cows, 4% slaughter bulls and the balance was females back to the country.
