Sioux Falls sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 1,200 head Sept. 19, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter ewes were steady to $1 higher. Feeder lambs under 80 pounds were $3 to $5 higher, over 80 pounds were firm to $1 higher. Sheep supplies were nearly 51% slaughter lambs with about 33% feeder lambs and the balance was mostly slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 123 to 157 lbs., No 1 and 2 pelts 98.00 to 98.75; No 3 pelts 93.50 to 95.00. Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 122 to 152 lbs., 94.50 to 96.50. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 42.00 to 48.50. Cull 1 to 2, 36.00 to 40.50. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 50 to 58 lbs., 143.00 to 151.00; 65 to 68 lbs., 140.75 to 142.00; 77 lbs., 136.00; 84 to 87 lbs., 116.00 to 120.75; 95 to 99 lbs., 117.00 to 121.50; 115 to 128 lbs., 94.50. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 62 lbs., 119.00; 83 to 92 lbs., 94.00 to 101.00. Selection 2, 60 to 70 lbs., 109.00 to 116.00. Selection 3, 52 lbs., 94.00.
