Presho cattle auction news
The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 1,096 head Sept. 15, compared to 2,424 head last sale and 3,200 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.
There were no recent price comparisons available, however a firm undertone was noted following a sharply higher slaughter steer and heifer trade. Demand was good on the several packages and part loads of fall calves an yearlings offered. Steers comprised 56% of the run, heifers 44 percent.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 759 to 794 lbs., 116.00 to 116.50 (116.28); 14 head, 831 to 896 lbs., 115.00 to 115.25 (115.03); 867 to 886 lbs., 113.85 to 115.00 (114.14); 9 head, 934 lbs., 111.00; 955 to 962 lbs., 109.35 to 109.75 (109.39); 36 head, 1040 lbs., 105.25; 59 head, 1043 lbs., 105.75 value enhanced. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 5 head, 266 lbs., 410.00 per head; 8 head, 612 lbs., 128.50; 5 head, 756 lbs., 110.00; 8 head, 825 to 833 lbs., 110.50 to 113.25 (112.21); 927 to 947 lbs., 107.00 to 110.50 (110.25); 958 to 995 lbs., 105.50 to 109.75 (107.98). Large frame 1, 8 head, 963 lbs., 106.25.
