Ozark Fall Farmfest delivers opportunities for area farmers, ranchers

Agriculture rules Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7, 8 and 9 as the Ozark Fall Farmfest delivers a king-size crop of opportunities for area farm and ranch folks.

With more than 750 exhibits and hundreds of livestock filling up the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Mo., the 26th edition of the event will bring agricultural producers a multitude of things to see and do. From a long line-up of farm machinery geared toward any size of operation to a whole world of livestock equipment, the Ozark Fall Farmfest will bring together the area's largest gathering of agricultural goods and services.

Farmfest visitors have come to count on seeing quality seedstock from some of the area's best breeding programs and this year's edition won't disappoint. The beef cattle portion of the livestock displays is especially impressive with top breeders and top cattle from major as well as minor breeds.

Horse displays are also strong as area equine operations bring their very best to Farmfest. Along with cattle and horses, Farmfest animal exhibits will feature goats and sheep as well as many exotic species.

The Farmfest's unique, non-competition format allows stockmen to inspect livestock and talk with the breeders about their programs.

As for the rest of the Farmfest, indoors and out, the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds will be brimming over with trailers, tractors, cattle chutes, gates and panels, waterers, fencing, tools, trucks, forage equipment--the list goes on and on.

Additionally, there will be rural living displays where a host of products designed to enhance the rural lifestyle will be on display.

Once again, the Ozarks' biggest farm and ranch event will also feature daily working stock dog demonstrations scheduled throughout the three-day show.

Hours for the Ozark Fall Farmfest are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7; Saturday, Oct. 8; and Sunday, Oct. 9.

Admission and parking are free. The Ozark Empire Fairgrounds are easily accessed on the north side of Springfield, Mo., just off Interstate 44.

The Ozark Fall Farmfest is sponsored jointly by the Ozark Empire Fair and Farm Talk Newspaper.
