New Mexico Wool Growers, Inc. elects new officersNew Mexico New officers were elected to lead the New Mexico Wool Growers, Inc., (NMWGI) for the next two years at the organization's annual convention held July 14 through 16, in Roswell, according to newly elected president, Mike Corn, Roswell. "I am looking forward to working with the other officers and the NMWGI on behalf of the industry," Corn said. "The sheep industry in New Mexico faces many challenges but positive actions like the recently approved Lamb Check-Off will help us get our message to the public and promote our products. Also elected were first vice president Joan Kincaid, Pinon; second vice president Jim Cooper, Tinnie; and secretary/treasurer Marc Kincaid, Hope. The NMWGI also named new members to serve on the board of directors. Newly elected members are: Mark Sultemeier, Corona and H.C. "Hot Shot" Hendricks, Flying H. Directors currently serving are: Larry Benton, Pinon; Mike Carrica, Roswell; John P. Cauhape, Pinon; John Cooper, Tinnie; Leroy Cravens, Encino; Alice Eppers, Roswell; Kevin Floyd, Roswell; Royce Griggs, Picacho; Marc Kincaid, Pinon; R.C. "Punch" Jones, Tatum; Lloyd Maness, Yeso; Jim Marbach, Carlsbad; Ronnie Merritt, Yeso; Albert Perez, Vaughn; and Martin Yriart, Roswell. The New Mexico Wool Growers, Inc., represents all aspects of the state's sheep industry. The organization is active in promoting agriculture and ranching and works on legislative and regulatory issues that affect the industry. Date: 9/22/05
