The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 4,466 head Oct. 24, compared to 4,902 head last week, and 3,958 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, lightweight steers were steady to $2 higher. Feeder steers were $2 to $3 higher. Lightweight heifers were $3 to $4 lower. Feeder heifers were steady. Quality was fair to attractive on most classes except plainer on light heifers. Demand was very active with good attendance of buyers. Weigh-ups were mostly average, with a few fleshy calves. Receipts were comprised of 41% steers, 43% heifers, 16% bulls, with 19% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 lower. A total of 550 cows and bulls sold with 31% going to packers.
