Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 3,404 head Oct. 25, compared to 3,502 head last week and 4,397 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 lower. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady to $2 higher on light test. Trade was active. Demand was moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 400- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 97% and slaughter cows and bulls 3% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 70% of the run, heifers 30%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 59%.
