The St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., Oct. 21, reported receipts of 5,315 head, compared to 5,037 head last week and 5,906 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steer calves under 600 pounds sold mostly steady. Steer calves over 600 pounds sold $2 to $2.50 lower. Heifer calves sold unevenly steady. Yearlings were too few to test. Buyer representation was good with good to very good demand. Most calves had all shots and were of attractive quality. A few loads and near load lots offered. Many small lots and packages were offered. Receipts included 60% steers and 40% heifers, with 26% over 600 pounds.
