Soybean bids seen higherGrain bids were lower except soybeans which were slightly higher, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Oct. 24. Heavy rain through the southern plains pressure Wheat as crop gets off to a good start. Weekly export inspections for Wheat were reported at 20.9 million bushels. Corn bids declined as weather looks ideal through the week for an active harvest. Weekly export inspections were reported at 39.8 million bushels. Soybeans saw slight gains with weekly export inspections coming in at 32.7 million bushels. Wheat was 2 to 5 cents lower except St. Louis 6 cents higher. Corn was steady to 4 cents lower. Sorghum was 3 to 7 cents lower. Soybeans were 1 to 5 cents higher. Grains inspected for export for week ending Oct. 20: Wheat totaled 20.9 million bushels, down 500 thousand bushels; corn 39.8 million bushels, down 4.0 million bushels; sorghum 3.4 million bushels, down 700 thousand; and soybeans 32.7 million bushels, down 2.7 million bushels compared to a week ago. Year to date: Wheat totaled 398.2 million bushels down 59.5 million; corn 241.8 million bushels down 3.5 million; sorghum 19.7 million bushels down 20 thousand soybeans 114.0 million bushels down 28.6 million. Crop marketing years begin June 1 for Wheat and September 1 for corn, sorghum, and soybeans. There was nothing new to report in export news. In the futures close, Kansas City Dec Wheat was $3.65 1/4, down 4 3/4 cents. Terminal Wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $3.75-3.76, down 5 cents; Minneapolis, $4.16 1/2, down 5 cents; Portland, $3.58 to $3.60, down 3 to 2 cents; St. Louis, $2.89, up 6 cents. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $1.65, down 2 cents; Minneapolis, $1.37 1/2, down 4 cents; southern Iowa, $1.65 to $1.67, up 2 to down 4 cents; Omaha, $1.44 to $1.47, down 2 cents to unchanged. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $5.45, up 3 cents; Minneapolis, $4.95, up 3/4 cent; southern Iowa, $5.15 to $5.19, up 5 to down 2 cents; central Illinois processors, $5.48 to $5.60, up 3 3/4 to 2 3/4 cents. Kansas City Wheat prices Oct. 25, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $4.40 1/4 to $4.60 1/4, up 5 cents; 12% protein, $4.56 1/4 to $4.68 1/4, up 6 to 7 cents; 13% protein, $4.60 1/4 to $4.72 1/4, up 8 cents; 14% protein, $4.62 1/4 to $4.72 1/4, up 8 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter Wheat was $4.02 1/4 to $4.22 1/4, up 5 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $1.64 to $1.65, unchanged. Date: 10/26/05
