Sioux Falls sheep saleThe Sioux Falls Sheep Auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., Oct. 17, reported estimated receipts of 700 head, with actual receipts 950 head, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were steady. Slaughter ewes and feeder lambs were steady. Supplies were nearly 63% slaughter lambs with about 21% slaughter ewes and the balance mostly feeder lambs. Slaughter lambs: Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 to 2 pelts, 133 to 143 lbs., 94.00 to 96.75. Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 126 to 149 lbs., 93.00 to 96.00, mostly 94.00 to 96.00; 10 head, 159 lbs., 92.00. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 40.50 to 46.00, mostly 41.00 to 46.00. Utility and Cull 1 to 2, 34.00 to 41.00, mostly 34.00 to 38.00; some thin and lame 25.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 8 head, 51 lbs., 156.00; 60 to 70 lbs., 142.00 to 149.00.
