The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 2,694 head Oct. 20, compared to 3,703 head last week and 3,926 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing 400 to 650 pounds were $4 to $5 lower, 650 to 850 pounds were $2 to $3 lower, and 850 to 1000 pounds were steady. Feeder heifers weighing 400 to 650 pounds were steady to $3 lower, and 650 to 850 pounds were $1 to $3 lower. Slaughter cows were not tested. Receipts included 80% over 600 pounds and over, 20% 600 pounds and under, less than 1% slaughter cows. The feeder supply included 71% steers and 29% heifers.
