The Industry Task Force II on 2,4-D Research Data announces improvements to its website found online at www.24d.org. The website that focuses on the herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) has been updated, is easier to navigate and now includes a site search form.
Visitors to the 2,4-D web site can quickly find information on recent developments, news releases, backgrounders, government reviews, scientific studies, published articles, a master label and sign-up for a 2,4-D newsletter.
"We've intentionally kept the 2,4-D website very straightforward with a focus on the herbicide's research data and published regulatory decisions," says J.P. "Jack" Dutra, executive director of the Industry Task Force II on 2,4-D Research Data. "The new and improved 2,4-D web site makes it easier to quickly find online information about the world's most widely used and extensively tested herbicide," Dutra adds.
Visits to the website increased significantly after Aug. 8, 2005, when the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its comprehensive assessment of 2,4-D, under the Agency's reregistration program. EPA's decision document concluded that 2,4-D does not present risks of concern to human health when users follow 2,4-D product instructions as outlined in EPA's 2,4-D Reregistration Eligibility Decision (RED) document.
