Tulsa livestock market report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,043 head Nov. 14, compared to 4,639 head last week and 3,359 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steer calves were $3 to $5 higher with lightweights $3 to $8 higher. Heifer calves were $1 to $3 higher. Quality was average to attractive. Demand was very good. Weigh-ups were average to full with calves mostly fleshy. Receipts were comprised of 46% steers, 43% heifers, 11% bulls, with 17% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher, bulls were $1 to $2 higher. A total of 622 cows and bulls sold with 40% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 325 to 343 lbs., 152.00 to 156.00 (152.39); 350 to 383 lbs., 147.00 to 158.00 (151.57); 400 to 448 lbs., 133.00 to 146.00 (138.71); 455 to 498 lbs., 124.00 to 133.50 (129.17); 500 to 549 lbs., 120.00 to 130.00 (124.99) calves; 555 to 595 lbs., 116.00 to 122.50 (120.38) calves; 17 head, 600 to 620 lbs., 115.00 to 117.00 (115.56) calves; 17 head, 650 to 665 lbs., 114.00 to 115.50 (114.70) calves; 12 head, 700 to 735 lbs., 108.00 to 112.50 (109.82) calves; 9 head, 750 to 769 lbs., 108.00 to 110.00 (109.11) calves; 6 head, 837 to 838 lbs., 108.00 to 109.50 (108.75) calves. Medium and large frame 2, 14 head, 375 to 399 lbs., 120.00 to 140.00 (132.37); 8 head, 420 to 445 lbs., 125.00 to 130.00 (128.22); 11 head, 470 to 498 lbs., 120.00 to 126.00 (122.61); 14 head, 500 to 549 lbs., 110.50 to 120.50 (116.33) calves; 19 head, 560 to 597 lbs., 110.00 to 120.00 (114.21) calves.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 341 lbs., 139.00; 5 head, 505 to 530 lbs., 115.00 to 118.50 (117.32) calves; 566 to 597 lbs., 110.00 to 115.00 (113.74) calves; 7 head, 603 to 615 lbs., 106.00 to 114.00 (111.59) calves; 6 head, 708 to 731 lbs., 105.00 to 110.00 (106.63) calves; 8 head, 750 to 785 lbs., 105.00 to 108.00 (106.52) calves. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 465 to 473 lbs., 109.00 to 119.00 (114.96); 8 head, 507 to 535 lbs., 110.00 to 121.00 (116.74) calves; 10 head, 573 to 583 lbs., 110.00 to 116.50 (115.18) calves; 7 head, 725 lbs., 109.50.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 28 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1150 to 1625 lbs., 46.50 to 50.00; high dressing, 50.50; low dressing, 42.00 to 45.00. Boners, 65 head, 80 to 85% lean, 975 to 1525 lbs., 47.00 to 50.50; high dressing, 51.00 to 53.00; low dressing, 42.50 to 46.00. Lean, 57 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1350 lbs., 45.50 to 49.00; high dressing, 50.00 to 54.50; low dressing, 41.50 to 45.00. Light, 52 head, 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 950 lbs., 38.00 to 41.50; high dressing, 42.00 to 50.00; low dressing, 33.50 to 37.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 33 head, 1275 to 2100 lbs., 57.00 to 60.50; high dressing, 62.00 to 67.00; low dressing, 52.50 to 56.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 5 to 6 years old, 1050 to 1400 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, average quality 800.00 to 910.00; 10+ years old, 1000 to 1025 lbs., 4 to 5 months bred, low to average quality 530.00 to 560.00.
