The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,970 head Nov. 21, compared to 3,043 head last week and 1,014 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Compared to last week, steer calves were steady to $2 higher, heifer calves were steady. Lightweight calves were $3 to $5 higher. Demand was good. Quality was fair to attractive. Weigh-ups were mostly average with more weaned calves. Dry conditions are still of major concerns in much of the state. Receipts were comprised of 46% steers, 43% heifers, 12% bulls, with 17% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Bred cows continue to go back to the farm. A total of 675 cows and bulls sold with 32% going to packers.
