Tulia livestock auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,868 head Nov. 21, compared to 2,804 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were mostly steady, calves under 500 pounds were steady, over 500 pounds were steady to $3 higher. Feeder heifers were mostly steady. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 500- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 95% and slaughter cows and bulls 5% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 61% of the run, heifers 37%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 72%.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 325 to 375 lbs., 150.00 to 157.00; 425 to 475 lbs., 138.00 to 143.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 113.00 to 129.50, package 519 lb. yearlings 124.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 118.00 to 121.00, calves 106.00 to 113.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 114.50 to 119.00, 700 to 750 lb. calves 103.00 to 109.00; package 856 lbs., 109.00, lot 806 lb. calves 97.00. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 475 to 500 lbs., 125.50 to 131.00; 525 to 600 lbs., 108.00 to 110.00, package 588 lbs., full 105.00; 600 to 675 lbs., 114.00 to 123.00, calves 101.00 to 105.00; 775 to 800 lbs., 108.00 to 110.00; package 895 lbs., 97.00. Medium and large frame 2 and 3, few 563 lbs., 101.00; package 687 lbs., 92.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, package 641 lbs., 107.00; lot 829 lbs., 96.25. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, package 485 lbs., 110.00; lot 748 lbs., 93.00; 825 to 830 lbs., 85.00 to 89.00; lot 1012 lbs., 80.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, lot 452 lbs., 122.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 107.25 to 112.00, package 565 lb. yearlings 105.00; lot 697 lbs., 111.50, 600 to 700 lb. calves 104.00 to 107.00; load 711 lbs., 108.00; 800 to 875 lbs., 91.00 to 92.00; package 978 lbs., 87.75. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 375 to 400 lbs., 119.00 to 120.00; several packages 458 lbs., 120.00 to 121.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 107.75 to 110.00, package 578 lbs., full 94.50; 600 to 650 lbs., 101.50 to 107.50, 600 to 675 lb. calves 101.00 to 110.00; 725 to 775 lb. calves 94.00 to 100.00. Medium and large frame 2 and 3, 400 to 500 lbs., 107.50; package 580 lbs., 100.50; 625 to 700 lbs., 94.00 to 95.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1600 lbs., 44.50 to 47.50; 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 45.00 to 47.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1200 to 1600 lbs., 45.75 to 48.00; 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 44.00 to 47.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1200 to 1600 lbs., 43.50 to 45.00; 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 41.00 to 45.00, few; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 38.00 to 45.00; 85 to 90% lean, under 800 lbs., 34.00 to 38.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 1535 to 2295 lbs., 55.00 to 60.00, few; high dressing, 1265 to 1955 lbs., 62.25 to 64.25, few; low dressing, 1915 lbs., 52.00, individual.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, young to middle-aged, 1150 to 1425 lbs., 2 to 6 months bred, 600.00 to 785.00 per head; young to middle-aged, 850 to 1413 lbs., 6 to 8 months bred, 650.00 to 875.00 per head.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, few young to middle-aged, 950 to 1450 lbs., with 100- to 200-lb. calves, 550.00 to 750.00 per pair.
