Tool safely releases hydraulic pressure in couplersWaite's Tools, Atwood, Colo., introduces the Hydraulic Pressure Relief Tool, which safely releases built-up hydraulic pressure from couplers. The tool decreases the risk of accident or injury from fluid spray and makes for a cleaner work space. The tool cost is less than that of replacing three male fittings damaged from improper coupling, according to the company. Use of the tool also reducles hydraulic fluid loss from damaged fittings and reduces contamination to the hydraulic system. The Colorado Department of Transportation awarded the Hydraulic Pressure Relief Tool its 2005 Statewide Safety and Innovation Award. The tools are manufactured in Atwood, Colo.
