Salina cattle market report

The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., Nov. 17, reported receipts of 2,942 head, compared to 3,530 head last week and 3,677 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, feeder steers 400 to 650 pounds were $1 to $3 higher, 650 to 800 pounds were steady to $1 lower, 800 to 900 pounds were $2 lower, feeder heifers 400 to 650 pounds were $2 to $4 higher, 650 to 800 pounds were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter cows were not tested. Trade was active. Demand was good. Receipts included 71% 600 pounds and over, 28% 600 pounds and under, 1% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 67% steers and 33% heifers.
