State Veterinarian Dr. Dennis Hughes announced Nov. 17 that the ranches in Scotts Bluff County that were placed under quarantine for vesicular stomatitis were released from those quarantine orders.
The ranches were placed under quarantine in October as a precautionary measure to help protect the Nebraska herd's health and safety.
"The animals on the ranches that were quarantined have been inspected and have met the appropriate waiting period to be released from quarantine," said Hughes. "Now that colder weather is upon us, we are optimistic that the vectors that carry this disease have been, or soon will be, eliminated."
