Presho cattle auction news

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 3,850 head Nov. 17, compared to 3,680 head last week and 3,600 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 higher. A few potloads were on offer, mostly part loads. All the calves had spring and fall shots. The offering included 66% steers, 34% heifers, with 31% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 4 head, 343 lbs., 170.00; 351 to 386 lbs., 164.00 to 175.00 (171.87); 414 to 436 lbs., 156.00 to 166.50 (162.23); 450 to 485 lbs., 149.00 to 157.00 (153.60); 506 to 546 lbs., 137.00 to 146.00 (142.64); 522 to 529 lbs., 146.25 fancy; 554 to 577 lbs., 138.25 to 146.50 (140.48); 609 to 645 lbs., 128.50 to 133.50 (131.92) calves; 11 head, 627 lbs., 127.75 fleshy; 650 to 698 lbs., 125.00 to 130.10 (128.20) calves; 23 head, 711 lbs., 119.00 calves; 779 to 788 lbs., 118.50 to 119.25 (118.98) calves. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 20 head, 397 lbs., 156.50; 456 to 487 lbs., 138.00 to 146.75 (145.09); 501 to 510 lbs., 130.00 to 135.75 (135.44); 554 to 597 lbs., 128.25 to 136.75 (132.80); 8 head, 636 lbs., 120.75 calves; 670 to 683 lbs., 116.25 to 122.00 (120.41) calves.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 385 to 399 lbs., 153.00 to 158.00 (157.33); 429 to 443 lbs., 137.00 to 141.00 (139.80); 455 to 482 lbs., 139.25 to 143.00 (141.04); 500 to 544 lbs., 126.00 to 134.50 (129.88); 551 to 599 lbs., 120.25 to 127.00 (123.74); 100 head, 576 lbs., 128.00 replacement; 620 to 635 lbs., 117.00 to 124.50 (122.55) calves; 630 to 640 lbs., 126.85 to 128.00 (126.95) replacement; 14 head, 663 to 699 lbs., 113.00 to 119.00 (115.80) calves; 13 head, 727 lbs., 117.25 calves. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 19 head, 437 lbs., 135.00; 461 to 475 lbs., 130.00 to 136.50 (134.13); 60 head, 535 lbs., 124.00 to 126.50 (124.83); 11 head, 682 lbs., 110.00 calves.
