Workshop set to give landowners wildlife, range management opportunitiesColorado A free workshop for landowners will be held at the Max and Vanessa Wilson ranch 25 miles south of Las Animas, July 15. The event will begin at 8 a.m., and is set to conclude at 1 p.m. Several different organization representatives will discuss wildlife, habitat, partnership opportunities and the different incentive programs they have available, as well as rangeland management. A ranch tour of the Wilson's ranch will demonstrate a number of management practices and partnerships. Organizers say anyone interested in becoming more familiar with state, federal and private programs that are available to private land owners, should attend the free workshop. Attendees should be able to walk away from the event with a better understanding of habitat enhancement programs, partnership opportunities and rangeland management skills. The workshop will also be a perfect opportunity to network and meet local resource managers. The workshop is being cooperatively produced by the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, Playa Lakes Joint Venture, Audubon of Colorado and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The workshop is free and a continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Space is limited, and to reserve a spot call Seth Gallagher with RMBO at 970-482-1707 or e-mail seth.gallagher@rmbo.org; or call Max and Vanessa Wilson at 719-456-1051. Date: 6/23/05
