Sioux Falls sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., June 20 reported estimated receipts of 400 head, with actual receipts of 1,160 head including 193 goats, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were $1 to $3 lower. Slaughter ewes were $1 to $2 lower. Feeder lambs were 50 to 90 pounds were $2 to $3 lower, over 90 pounds were $6 to $10 lower. Sheep supplies were nearly 63% slaughter lambs with about 21% feeder lambs and the balance was mostly slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 115 to 151 lbs., 112.00 to 116.50. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 and 3, 36.00 to 44.00. Cull 1 and 2, 30.00 to 35.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 52 to 53 lbs., 155.00 to 156.00; 60 to 73 lbs., 134.50 to 136.00; 37 head, 76 lbs., short tails 119.50; 83 to 85 lbs., 122.00 to 124.00; 25 head, 98 lbs., short tails 116.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 16 head, 41 lbs., 131.00. Selection 2 and 3, 86 head 43 lbs., 113.00. Feeder goats: Selection 2 and 3, 36 lbs., 125.00. Date: 6/23/05
