North Texas crops field day set for July 21Texas The 24th annual North Texas Crops Field Day will be July 21 at the Prosper Research Farm located on Farm to Market Road 1461 just north of Prosper. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Several Texas Cooperative Extension crops specialists, Noble Foundation specialists and seed company representatives will be on hand to present and discuss the varieties in this year's research plots, and insect and disease management. Representatives from the Texas Department of Agriculture, the USDA-Farm Services Agency and the Natural Resources Conservation Service will also be presenting information on services available through their offices. This year's crops field day is a multi-county event with Collin, Denton, Cooke and Grayson counties. "Producers from these counties and all other surrounding counties are encouraged to attend this educational field day," said Rick Maxwell, Extension agent in Collin County. There is no cost for attending this event and lunch will be provided. Three continuing education units will also be offered for those attending who have a Texas pesticide applicators license. For more information on the "North Texas Crops Field Day" or to pre-register, call the Extension office in Collin County at 972-548-4233. Maxwell requests attendees pre-register by July 12 for meal planning purposes. Date: 6/21/05
