South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending July 15 showed receipts of 12,800 feeder lambs, 500 replacement ewes and 300 slaughter goats, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week feeder lambs were steady. Slaughter ewes were not tested. Slaughter goats were firm to $2 higher. Trading and demand were moderate. Supplies are becoming limited due to the brisk trading the past month. Feeder lambs: Texas, 2800 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 85 lbs., 125.00 to 128.00. New Mexico, 10,000 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 80 to 85 lbs., 125.00 to 128.00 for September/October delivery. Replacement ewes: Texas, 500 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, solid mouth whiteface 85.00 to 90.00 per head. Slaughter meat goats: Kids, 300 head, Selection 1 to 2, 50 to 70 lbs., 120.00.
