Sioux Falls sheep salesThe Sioux Falls Sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 500 head July 18, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were $3 to $4 lower. Slaughter ewes were mostly steady on a light test. Feeder lambs were mostly steady. Supplies were nearly 60% slaughter lambs with about 26% feeder lambs and the balance mostly slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 123 to 153 lbs., 105.50 to 108.00. Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 126 to 141 lbs., 107.00 to 107.50. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 34.00 to 40.00. Cull 1 to 2, 25.00 to 32.50. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 47 lbs., 157.00, 58 lbs., 156.00; 61 to 65 lbs., 139.00 to 144.00; 90 to 92 lbs., 115.00 to 118.50; 109 lbs., 111.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 8 head, 54 lbs., 133.00; 17 head, 62 to 64 lbs., 119.50 to 120.50. Date: 7/21/05
