Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,475 head, July 15, compared to 1,356 head, last week and 4,365 head, last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, there were not enough feeder steers and feeder heifers weighing 300 to 700 pounds for a market test, but a steady undertone was noted in the light supply. Feeder steers weighing 700 to 1000 pounds were mostly steady with instances selling $3 lower. Feeder heifers weighing 700 to 750 pounds were $4 higher, those at 750 to 850 pounds were $1 to $4 lower. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $1 higher. Receipts included 93% 600 pounds and over, 4% 600 pounds and under, 3% cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 70% steers and 30% heifers.
